President Kendra Ericson Receives Recognition Award

St. Luke’s College President, Dr. Kendra Ericson, Honored with 2024 Recognition Award at The Way Up Conference

(SIOUX CITY, IA – November 14, 2024) Dr. Kendra Ericson, President of St. Luke’s College, has been named the 2024 recipient of the prestigious Recognition Award from “The Way Up Conference.” This accolade celebrates individuals who have made significant and sustained contributions to advancing women in higher education.

“I didn’t get to this stage alone,” said Ericson. “I had to invest in myself, but countless others invested in me along the way. Thank you to all the women shaping the future of education with your passion and dedication. Each of us has our story on ‘The Way Up’—embrace it and enjoy the journey.”

The Recognition Award, dating back to the 1980s, highlights trailblazers dedicated to breaking barriers and championing women’s growth in academia. Dr. Ericson was recognized for her transformative leadership at St. Luke’s College. Her nomination praised her as “someone who understands that leadership is an art and a privilege” and highlighted her pivotal contributions, including the development of the state-of-the-art simulation center, her advocacy skills and her mentorship of women within her institution and beyond.

The Way Up award and scholarship committee selected Dr. Ericson for her extraordinary impact on higher education and her unwavering commitment to empowering women to achieve their fullest potential.

Dr. Ericson received the award during “The Way Up Conference” held November 7-8, 2024, in Coralville, Iowa.
